This directory has two sections; one contains original texts, the best known of which is Arthur Young’s Tour of Ireland ; the second contains articles on the history of agricultural practices, mainly referring to English use. Bell & Watson’s History of Irish Farming, published by the Four Courts Press in 2008 is the standard work for the Irish context.
